"...to extinguish the pernicious evil of human unreason and blindness..."

Uniseum Freiburg

Who were Albert and Ludwig? What was the purpose of the Karzer?
Since when do women study? What triggered the student protests?

The Uniseum Freiburg is the university museum of the University of Freiburg and is located in the heart of the city, in the street „Bertoldstraße”.

The museum's permanent exhibition covers more than 1,000 square meters and enables visitors to take a stroll through six centuries of university history and history of science.

Following the concept of "Astonishment - Research - Educating", visitors can discover the research work and teaching of the University from its beginnings in the 15th century to the present day and immerse themselves in a small university world of experience through a number of interactive stations.

The Uniseum Freiburg is not only a classic guided museum, but also functions as a place of communication and encounter.

The forum on the first floor of the museum is equipped with multimedia technology and offers sufficient space for 25 persons. Ideal for courses and presentation events, exciting dialogues between society, culture and economy can take place against the backdrop of the University's history.

In the historic Bursenkeller of the Uniseum, the "small ceremonial hall" with 45 seats becomes a meeting place for special celebrations, concerts, readings or final meetings in an extraordinary ambience.
